How LabOpsTech references and integrates engineering software.
LabOpsTech is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party software vendor. We never host or resell proprietary software; we link to official sources and embed only open/openly-licensed tools.
1. Educational purpose & scope
LabOpsTech references, links to, and — where a license expressly permits — embeds or hosts third-party engineering software strictly for educational and informational purposes. Nothing on the "Industry & Learning Tools" pages should be read as a distribution of, or a commercial offer for, any third-party product.
2. Trademarks & no affiliation
All product names, logos, and trademarks — including but not limited to Proteus, MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, Revit, Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, NI Multisim, LabVIEW, Tinkercad, Cisco, Cisco IOS, Cisco Packet Tracer, LTspice, CarSim, GT-SUITE, and all others — are the property of their respective owners. LabOpsTech is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies. Such names are used only under nominative fair use to accurately describe the tools and help learners identify them.
3. We do not distribute proprietary software
LabOpsTech does not distribute, resell, sublicense, host, cache, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, or commercialize any proprietary third-party software. Where a proprietary or free-proprietary tool is listed, the associated link opens the vendor's OWN official website. You are solely responsible for obtaining a valid license from the vendor and for complying with that vendor's terms of use.
4. Embedded open-source & open-licensed tools
Tools marked "Embedded" or "Cloud Lab" are open-source (e.g., GPL/LGPL/Apache/BSD) or openly licensed (e.g., CC-BY). They are surfaced in compliance with their respective licenses, including required attributions and, for copyleft components, an offer of corresponding source code. These components remain the property of their authors and are not claimed as LabOpsTech's own work. See the Open-Source Notices page for attributions and source links.
5. Public-domain (government) tools
Certain tools (e.g., EPANET, SWMM by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; HEC-RAS by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) are U.S. Government works in the public domain. LabOpsTech references them factually and is not endorsed by, and does not represent, any government agency.
6. LabOpsTech-built simulators (concept parity)
The Engineering Designer Environment (EDE) simulators are original works built by LabOpsTech to teach standard, publicly known engineering principles and physical/mathematical relationships. They are NOT derived from, and do NOT contain, any third-party software's source code, user interface, icons, datasets, or proprietary models. Any resemblance to commercial tools is limited to shared underlying scientific concepts, which are not protectable by copyright.
The Interactive Simulator Labs — including the "Numerical Computing Lab (MATLAB®-compatible syntax)", the "Network Device CLI Lab (Cisco IOS®-style)", and the Networking labs — are original, independent, browser-based teaching environments built by LabOpsTech. They emulate only publicly known command/expression syntax and standard engineering & networking concepts so learners can practice. They are NOT MATLAB®, Simulink®, Cisco®, Cisco IOS®, or Cisco Packet Tracer®; they contain none of those products' source code, user interface, icons, or datasets; and they are NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The MathWorks, Inc. or Cisco Systems, Inc. MATLAB® and Simulink® are registered trademarks of The MathWorks, Inc.; Cisco®, Cisco IOS® and related marks are trademarks of Cisco Systems, Inc. All such marks are used purely for identification and education under nominative fair use.
7. Links & third-party content
External links are provided for convenience. LabOpsTech does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or terms of third-party sites and software. Accessing them is at your own risk and subject to those third parties' terms.
8. No warranty
Tool listings, classifications, and license labels are provided "as is" for guidance and may change as vendors update their products or terms. LabOpsTech makes no warranty as to accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. Always verify a tool's current license before relying on it.
9. Report an issue
If you are a rights holder and believe a listing is inaccurate or infringes your rights, contact us at info@learnittechindia.com and we will review and, where appropriate, correct or remove the listing promptly.
